Frontend Submissions – Basic Setup

This doc will guide you through the basic setup of  Frontend Submissions.

Step 1 - Activate Frontend Submissions and enter your license key

You will upload and activate Frontend Submissions just like any other plugin. Once you have done that, go to  Downloads → Settings → Licenses and enter the license key that was included in your purchase receipt. This will ensure you get access to automatic updates when ever updated versions are released.

Step 2 - Configure the Settings

In your main WordPress Dashboard menu, click on the menu titled  EDD FES and choose Settings. Here you will configure some of the behavior of Frontend Submissions.

Most settings can be left as default but look over them and set them based on how you wish your store to behave.

Under the  Pages section, there are two important options to pay close attention to:

  • Vendor Dashboard - This is the page that acts as the central frontend dashboard for vendors. This page was automatically created when you activated Frontend Submissions. If you choose to change this page, please ensure that you update the select page here as well.
  • Vendor Page - This page is used as the base page for vendor stores. This page was created when you activated Frontend Submissions and will usually be left as is.

Ensure that both of these are set appropriately.

Under the  Emails section, there are options that allow you to configure each of the emails that gets sent out at various events. See here for a list of template tags available and sample emails.

Step 3 - Setup the Submission Form

Under EDD FES → Submission Form, you can create the form that is used by vendors to submit new products. This form is created with a simple drag and drop interface. Choose the fields you wish to add from the right, fill in the options, and, once finished, click the Save button.

Step 4 - Setup the Profile Form

Under EDD FES → Profile Form, you can create the form that is used by vendors to update their profile. This form is created with a simple drag and drop interface. Choose the fields you wish to add from the right, fill in the options, and, once finished, click the Save button.

Step 5 - Setup the Registration Form

Under EDD FES → Registration Form, you can create the form that is used by prospective vendors when they wish to apply to become a vendor (if enabled). This form is created with a simple drag and drop interface. Choose the fields you wish to add from the right, fill in the options, and, once finished, click the Save button.
