Themedd - Installing demo content

If you'd like to set up your site like the Themedd demo at  https://successstories.themedd.com, follow the instructions below.

Before you begin:

  2. Make sure Themedd is installed and activated

Image sizes

Follow the steps below if you want all images to be shown at the same dimensions as those in the demo. You can also do this after importing the demo content, but you'll need to regenerate your images using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

  1. In the WordPress admin, go to Settings → Media
  2. In the Thumbnail size Width field, enter 480.
  3. In the Thumbnail size Height input field, enter 480
  4. Uncheck the Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions option
  5. In the Large size Max Width input field, enter 991
  6. In the Large size Max Height input field enter 1600
  7. Click Save Changes

Installing the demo content

  1. Download the export file
  2. Go to Tools → Import in the WordPress admin panel
  3. Activate & Run the Importer
  4. Click the Choose file button and select the export file you downloaded in step 1
  5. You will first be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the site. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the site or to create a new user
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. If you would like to import the demo images, make sure to select the Download and import file attachments checkbox option
  7. Click the Submit button to start the import
  8. That's it! If you now view your download grid you should see the same downloads (with images) as the demo.

Adding additional CSS styling

The  Themedd demo uses a small amount of CSS styling to provide a background color for the transparent book PNGs, and to animate the book cover when you hover over them. If you would like to do this, use the following CSS code:

.edd_download_image,
.edd-download .post-thumbnail {
    background: #f9fbf9; /* The background color for the download grid and single download page */
}

.edd_download_image {
    overflow: hidden;
}

.edd_download_image img {
    top: 0.5rem;
    position: relative;
    transition: 0.1s top ease-out;
}

.edd_download_image a:hover img {
    top: 0;
}

Custom CSS can be placed in your theme's style.css file, or from the customizer in the WordPress admin.
